How We Began

About Us

Our mission is to support other non-profit organizations in the State of Oklahoma whose values reflect enriching the lives of children, scholastic leadership, academic excellence, and mentoring, and providing health care assistance to children.
Mission Statement

In 2001, Oklahoma Sports Science & Orthopedics (OSSO) invited Mark Harmon, star of the CBS hit series "NCIS", and some of his friends to participate in a charity baseball game against the OSSO Outlaws.  The event was a huge success raising funds for the Children's Center in Bethany, Oklahoma.  It soon became an annual tradition.  In 2008 a 501(c)(3) was established to expand our mission and the outreach of the event.  Over the years proceeds have been donated to many local Oklahoma organizations benefiting children including:

  • The Children's Center (a private non-profit pediatric hospital) to help build the Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit (PMRU)
  • Oklahoma City Indian Clinic's Harmon-y' Pediatric Clinic
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Anna's House Foundation
  • Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma's Childhood Hunger Initiative
  • Sunset Therapeutic Riding Center

Among the celebrities that have continued to appear with Mark Harmon on the Bombers baseball team are movie producer Frank Marshall whose credits include Jurassic World, Jurassic Park, the Indiana Jones series, the Bourne Series, the Back to the Future Trilogy, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button; sports agent Barry Axelrod, ESPN announcer and former Chicago Cub Rick Sutcliffe, former Dallas Cowboy Bruce Walton, Major League Baseball veteran and coach Wally Joyner, Mark Heydorff, Peter Dubrawski, John Sciarra, Steve Klausen, Jim Peterson, Deacon Nauslar, team historian and catcher Don Manning, Scott Wedman, Bruce Walton, MLB veteran Mickey Hatcher and Chuck Olsen.
